Scott Sommers is a partner with First Financial Consulting. He joined the firm in 1999, but has been working in financial services and consulting since 1989. Scott has a well-deserved reputation in investment consulting and financial planning and is renowned for his work in the area of personal cashflow management. Recently, he assisted NBC’s Today Show in their week-long series, “Money for Women”

Scott has also been a lecturer on the topic of personal financial management and has developed an acclaimed workshop, entitled The Game of Finance, covering topics such as:

  • How to talk about money with your spouse
  • Successful budgeting
  • How to make your kids money-wise
  • Debt reduction techniques

Prior to joining First Financial Consulting, Scott spent ten years working for the New York Life Insurance Company, where he assisted individuals and small business owners with their investment and risk management needs.

Scott received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Southern California and for the past 15 years has enjoyed teaching an economics course for young adults.

He and his wife, Lisa, live in the Los Angeles area with their three children and are active in their local community and church. Scott has also coached baseball and softball where he applies his skill and experience as a former member of the Boston Red Sox organization for the benefit of a local high school team.
