American Red Cross is accepting donations online, by phone (800) 733-2767, or by texting REDCROSS to 90999. They also have hundreds of shelters set up and has forms to fill out for finding missing people.

California Fire Foundation is collecting emergency funding

Mutual Aid LA provides info on shelters, assistance and donations. They also set up a very comprehensive spreadsheet of resources.

GoFundMe has set up a page for the fires, where you can donate to a general fund or to individual families (verified fundraisers).

Project Hope is assessing working with shelters, government officials and local organizations to identify and help fill in gaps for the greatest needs.

Community Organized Relief Effort is on the ground providing help

Direct Relief is distributing medical supplies and safety equipment to residents and first responders.

California Community Foundation‘s Wildfire Recovery Fund

LAIT911 — LA Fire & Rescue’s nonprofit — is accepting volunteers for their disaster response and recovery team, including collecting donations and assisting with delivery lait911.org

LA Works – you can sign up to alerts to be notified of volunteer opportunities as they arise.

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles – Providing community services at all locations, YMCA LA is seeking donations and volunteers.

Union Rescue Mission – The organization is now a Relief Hub, accepting essential supplies through its distribution center, thrift stores, and mission locations. Residents who have been impacted can shop in the thrift stores free of charge. 

Flintridge Center – Volunteers will sort and pass out donations, including water, baby bottles, diapers, packaged snacks, masks, hygiene kits, blankets and pillows.

 

Food

LA Food Bank has a full map of emergency locations relief.           

World Central Kitchen is handing out food and water, seeking aid and volunteers.

Project Angel Food is seeking immediate volunteers for both delivery and in the kitchen over the next several days.

No Res Gourmet – you can help cook, package, and distribute meals, as well as donate funds and supplies.

Neighbors and Friends – The cafe and cheese shop in Old Town Pasadena has become a donation center and drop-off point; seeking volunteers.

Hollywood Food Coalition – Seeking volunteers to prepare and serve food to people experiencing homelessness, also to organize food to be distributed to other organizations.

Animals

Foster pets of displaced families or help at overcrowded shelters. Active programs with animalcare.lacounty.gov (including emergency shelters) and www.laanimalservices.com, and local shelters—especially the Pasadena Humane—are seeking fosters and monetary donations, they’re also treating burnt and injured animals with other CA shelters.

Canine Rescue Club is also screening for fosters.

 

Specific Groups/Vulnerable Populations

Malibu Foundation for vulnerable groups like seniors, low-income families, and people with disabilities and uninsured households.

Baby2Baby works with 470 LA County organizations top provide essential items like diapers, formula, etc. for families with babies & young children.

United Way LA for low-income and homeless people, and small businesses and community organizations.

California Community Foundation uses data from CalFire and CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index to ensure their grants target the neediest communities with both intermediate recovery and long-term support.

 

First Responders

Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation seeking funds to equip responders.

Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighters Fund support firefighters with fire injuries and those who’ve lost their homes.

 

Housing/Shelter

Airbnb and 211 LA are teaming up to offer temporary housing – those in need can fill out an intake form with 211 LA to apply.

The Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach announced that it will be pricing rooms for fire evacuees at $189. The reservation includes a voucher for a breakfast buffet for two people. Some fees have been waived.

Visit Big Bear is working with local lodging facilities and homeowners to offer LA County fire evacuees discounted stays.

Visit Anaheim has a list of special hotel offers and assistance on its official website.

LA County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs to obtain information about, and to report, price gougingCalifornia Penal Code section 396 prohibits price increases of more than 10% on essential goods and services during an emergency.

Pacaso is offering free rentals on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who have lost their homes. All the homes and short-term fees are covered by the homeowners and Pacaso; email donations@pacaso.com to get matched with a rental.

Discover Los Angeles is working with the Hotel Association of Los Angeles to maintain a list of hotels offering relief accommodations for those displaced by the ongoing wildfires, including discounts and organizer contact information.

Miscellaneous

Uber is offering people a free ride up to $40 to active evacuation centers for those who have been ordered to evacuate. The ride is only valid if going to an active evacuation center and can be accessed using the code WILDFIRE25.

Lyft is offering people two rides up to $25 each ($50 total) to the first 2,000 riders using the code CAFIRERELIEF25. This offer is good until 11:59 p.m. on January 15, 2025.

U-Haul has opened 92 locations across Los Angeles County where evacuated residents can get 30 days free storage.

Planet Fitness and UFC Gym locations not affected by the fires are allowing evacuees and first responders use of locker rooms, showers, loungers, electrical outlets, and Wi-Fi, through January 15 and 31, respectively.
